"Once upon a time there was a sweet little girl whom everyone loved, and the person who loved her the most was old grandmother. Once the little girl was given a red cap by grandmother. She always wore it, that's why they called her Little Red Riding Hood."
Red Riding Hood and the Wolf, or simply Red Riding Hood, Little Red Riding Hood and the like, is a European folk tale of uncertain origin. In Germany and Northern Europe, the Brothers Grimm's version Rotkäppchen und der Wolf from 1812 is best known, but the oldest written version is Charles Perrault's French Le Petit Chaperon rouge from 1697.
