Would you like a stove table, which at the same time tells you what the world looked like during the Cold War?
This table is made of solid birch, with a world map molded into the table top with epoxy. The map is from the Cold War, and shows both the Soviet Union and all the satellite states such as the Lithuanian SSR. In other words, a fantastic piece of history to display daily in your living room. The epoxy protects the map so it can withstand daily use, and gives a plastic-like finish.
The table is finally treated with 3 coats of semi-gloss floor varnish. The table top can be easily washed off with a damp cloth if there are stains on it. The edge is slightly raised around the map.
This is a table that will be one of its kind, since I am not sure if I will make more models. So this is first come, first served.
The dimensions of the table are 122 cm x 62 cm x 49 cm, (LxWxH).
This table must be collected, as it is too large to send.
